Mr. Marcus has been sent to jail after admitting he knowingly exposed co-stars to syphilis and altered records saying he was disease free.
Adult film performer, Mr. Marcus who has starred alongside the likes of Lisa Ann, Gianna Michaels and Sara Jay has received a 30-day sentence in jail for knowingly exposing his co-stars to the sexually transmitted disease syphilis according to NBC News.
The 42-year-old whose real name is Jesse Spencer has starred in over a thousand adult films since 1994. Tuesday Spencer, a central figure in a scandal over the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in the adult film world, received his sentence just four years after being inducted into the Adult Video News Hall of Fame.
Spencer has admitted to altering records which purported to show that the actor and director has passed tests for mandatory medical screening for sexually transmitted diseases. The Los Angeles Superior Court handed down a sentence of 30-days in jail as well as 15-days of community service. He will also remain on probation until 2016.
“I have to live with this. No one else does,” an adult magazine quoted Spencer as saying. “I’m sorry. I’m very sorry.”
The case began with a positive test result for syphilis in July of 2012, Mr. Marcus received a penicillin shot for the syphilis and received a second test on July 21st, again the test showed that Spencer had syphilis. According to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office Spencer altered a photocopy of the original test form.
During the filming of an interracial adult film for Bang Productions, Mr. Marcus’ co-star Lylith Lavey noticed that the test results had been altered. Lavey, whose real name is Heather DeAngelo turned Jesse Spencer into the police.
Heather DeAngelo is currently suing Spencer in the Van Nuys Superior Court for ‘intentional infliction of emotional distress,’ she has tested negative for the disease.
In June while shooting for Bang Productions fellow performers had noticed a white lesion on Mr. Marcus’ penis, a lesion that Spencer explained away as a bad reaction to lubricant.
After Jesse Spencer was caught adult film producers suspended production for a month.
